Softening Point Apparatus :- As per IS:1205-1978
Use :-
Used for the determination of softening point of
asphaltic bitumen and fluxed native asphalt, road tar,
coal tar pitch and blown type bitumen.
Description :-
Unit consists of steel balls and brass rings as per IS
specified dimensions, ball guide for ball centering,
support for the ring, all mounted in a beaker which is
provided with magnetic stirrer and a Immersion heater to
heat the liquid inside. Temperature is maintained with
the help of a programmable digital temp. Controller
provided with PT100 sensor to achieve 5 degree C/min.
temperature rise.
